History

ACS Industries, Inc. is the world leader in engineered knitted wire mesh solutions.  Founded in Providence, Rhode Island in 1939, American Copper Sponge, Inc. manufactured just that: knitted copper sponges.  In fact, our original knitted wire mesh air and grease filters, first put to market in 1946, were originally products of excess knitting capacity.  After experiencing heavy growth in the knitted wire mesh business unit and moving the corporate headquarters to Lincoln, RI in 1959, management changed the company’s name to ACS Industries, Inc. in 1960.

Today, ACS Industries, Inc. leads the industry in knitted wire mesh technologies and is ready take on our customers’ most difficult and important projects.  As the world’s largest vertically integrated knitted wire mesh manufacturer, we are able to offer competitive pricing and short lead times.  In addition, we have worked extensively with automotive Original Equipment Manufactures (OEMs) and Tier I Suppliers, affiliations that require our quality control measures and standards to be second to none.

 

ACS is a multinational organization.  From our industry leading research and development lab and corporate headquarters in Lincoln, Rhode Island, to our production facilities in Monterrey, Mexico and Shanghai, China and our regional sales offices throughout the world we have assets in place allowing us to serve customers in every geographic region.

Locations

Lincoln, Rhode Island: home to our corporate headquarters, research and development department and Scrubble® Products Division since 1959.

 

Houston, Texas: headquarters to ACS Industries, LP, Separations & Mass-Transfer Products, this facility is located in the heart of the Amercian petrochemical industry.

 

Monterrey, Mexico: established pre-NAFTA in 1987 to keep rising labor costs in check, ACS Internacional S. de R.L. de C.V. operates just under 1,000,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space.  Onsite, value adding assets include tool and equipment design and construction, a state of the art machine shop and the world’s largest vertically integrated knitted wire mesh manufacturing facility with more than 550 knitting machines and a wire mill that draws over 15 million lbs. of fine wire per year.  All told, we have reached the unique position of the knitted wire mesh industry's cost and quality leaders.

 

Shanghai, China: established in 2000, ACS Industries (Shanghai) Co., LTD continues our long term, strategic goal of maintainign the knitted wire mesh industry's most competitive cost structure.  Currently operating in 100,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, this facility is in full mass production, ensuring that will continue to be able to serve our Asian and European customers’ just-in-time needs.
